my machine at work is constantly hanging up when I try to use (or 'awake' it) from the screen saver mode. Also, when I try simple tasks like quitting apps., shutting down, restarting, etc. it tells me that 'the application wasn't able to shut down properly' and that 'shut down has timed out'...

i'll try that eventually, it's just a big pain to lug that to a mac buddies house since it's at least a few miles in san diego traffic. thanks for the input.

Okay, i tried unplugging it while i restarted and reset the pram, but to no avail. Also, mine does not have a volume knob. No switches or anything. It's the harman/kardon clear iSub. any more ideas?

or at least it's not working. when i look through system profiler it reads that it is there in the USB area, but only the pro speakers are putting anything out. when i first got it i just plugged it in and it worked. i've since had to do a complete erase and reinstall, and now it doesn't work...

yeah, sorry guys. sometimes I type faster than my brain can read the signals that my eyes are telling it, i.e. the typo. I meant 5,000. I'll be more careful. Yeah, I usually won't activate a font management program unless I'm dealing with at least 13 fonts—then it's gets complicated. ;)
