avi's finally play!!!!!!

Weren't those command-line apps? I thought you had to put them somewhere on your path (/usr/local/bin for example) and then invoke them on a shell session. dani++

    What about the dev-tools?

Definitely, the lack of developer tools is stopping me from adopting 10.1. I use 10.0.4 for MySQL, PHP and WO development. No way. It's funny, we've been waiting for so long and now we are stuck with a useless CD. dani++ On the other hand, what is really preventing me from using 10.x on...

    wget missing?

Yes, you can always use Fink to compile and install Fink. To do that you'll need the development tools. I don't know if the current tools work or if there'll be and update available for download. I was able to run the devtools old installer successfully, but I haven't tested them yet...

    What about the dev-tools?

So, why would they post the developer tools online only after they provide 10.1 for download? 10.1 for download is surely far away in time... dani++

    Fink and no X11

I have installed and run Fink without having to install X11. With good results so far. However, you need to run some scripts to tweak your path so I'm not sure if any Fink-installed stuff (ncurses, for instance) can interact with non-Fink programs (a program that requires ncurses to run but is...

    Fink and no X11

I'm just compiling/installing Fink on my MacOS X machine. I would like to give it a try to compile some packages (bash and some others...), as I read on the docs, Fink is a system closely related to X11. My problem is that I really have no intention of installing X11 on my machine, can I...

Uh, oh. SVG viewer from Adove for 10.1?

Nope. Has Adobe released such a product? It sounds somehow familiar but I'm not sure... Besides, I don't have MacOS X 10.1 yet... =) dani++

    GNU-Darwin ports not working?

I mean the specialized GNU-Darwin ports, which are already configured (afaik). I am not trying to port or compile GNU software myself, if that's what you meant. dani++

    GNU-Darwin ports not working?

I've tried with both and 'bsdmake' seems to work most ('gnumake' gives me the same syntax errors as before). With 'bsdmake' it complains something like: "makefile", line 42: Could not find <bsd.port.mk> if I do a 'locate bsd.port.mk' I get: /usr/ports/Mk/bsd.port.mk...

    GNU-Darwin ports not working?

I've installed the GNU-Darwin ports system following the instructions and aside from some quirks it all seemed to install ok. However, whenever I try to 'make' anything the makefile in question gives me plenty of syntax errors. Specially on directives like '.if' and '.include', their syntax...

    Quake 3 for OS X

I am also trying to find an installer for urban Terror for Mac. The link on http://www.urbanterror.net doesn't work at all, it redirects me to a download site with a search query that gives no results at all. I'll try go get my FPS rates and post them here as soon as I can install UT...

vignette client on mac os x

Doesn't look good regarding the .dll files. On the other hand you could post the list of jar files, with their relative paths (which are significant). dani

vignette client on mac os x

Did you find any directories or any other resources (apart from the exe's themselves) related to the vignette client software? Do you have a list of what's actually installed? Alternatively, you could try a find of '.jar' files and see what comes up.

    Analog Workbench & Mathlab

I don't know Analog or MathLab. To determine if you can run them you must first know their interface and license. Are they opensource or commercial? Are they X-Windows based or console based? As far as I know MathLab is commercial and X-Windows. dani++

    BEA on MacOS X!?!

I have a trial of BEA from one of my daily jobs (media enterprise stuff) so I'll give it a try as soon as I have a spare afternoon. I've been to a presentation from those guys and the software looks mature. dani++
