I've seen two different movies this weekend with apples in them, Halloween Resurection the kid has a apple desktop, and on Daredevil it looks like the journalist has a powerbook.

For some reason I don't think I'd ever get a mac desktop, powerbooks are just nice, and os x on them seems great..but desktop? I dunno what it is.. I might change my mind when i start using my powerbook (it's still 5-7 weeks away according to apple.com)

Out of curiousity, what options are there for mac osx Anti virus software? I know with freebsd I never ran a AVP because well, it wasn't much needed...OSX being bsd like, I'd imagine that the viruses are rare, but I'd still prefer to run an AVP. I'm not sure if we (being the university I attend...

I may be stating the obvious, however "fink install gaim" doesn't work? According to fink's database it has the most current version of gaim. This is coming from someone who hasn't even gotten his powerbook yet, although I do use gaim on my freebsd box.

I can say that OpenOffice on FreeBSD is great. It's actually a opensource version of StarOffice 6.0 which is a Sun product. I'd highly recommend OpenOffice, although I don't have my PB yet, when I get it, I will be looking forward to installing OpenOffice. Keep in mind I haven't used it on mac...
