Just a thought, but have you tried to rename it and then deleting it?

Not too familiar with Mac laptops but with some windows laptops the hard drive can be ejected easily. Is it possible the hard drive isn't fully inserted?

Have you tried going to the startup disk in preferences? It should list any volumes it can find.

The Apple hardware test cd should have came with your Mac. By the way, which Mac are you using, and what OS? It sounds more like a hardware problem then software...

Some games will crash on OSX if permissions are not set properly. When it tries to save, the permissions will not let it write to the folder, and it crashes. After install, check the folder permissions and make sure everything is set to read AND write. Hope this helps...

Hmm... Well, according to Apple, "Keep in mind that there are a couple things that you won't be able to remove; namely, the Trash and the Finder." It's possible that it's just hidden. Try to click and hold on the dock and see if you can "show" the finder.

Do you have a power adapter you can plug in an outlet to try?

Does it show that it's charging when plugged in?

If you got that far, the settings should be right. Make sure you are using your Mac short name for the user and check your sharing preferences for windows sharing. If it's not selected, the firewall would stop the connection.

Check the settings in the mail application and see if it's set up with an outgoing smtp address. It will be under accounts in the preference setting. If not, click on the + sign on bottom left corner and set up an account.
