problems connecting to my mac from a pc

im running mac osx 10.4 on my mac mini and win xp on my laptop. I can accsess my pc from my mac. however when i try to accsess my mac from the pc i need to submit a user name and password. the problem is that my mac password and user name dosent work when i input it. any ideas?

If you got that far, the settings should be right. Make sure you are using your Mac short name for the user and check your sharing preferences for windows sharing. If it's not selected, the firewall would stop the connection.
