yup... and that was one of the issues that provoked me to do a complete re-install on my TiBook. I did it and the issue came up almost right away. Very strange. As soon as I grab the divider to resize it the Finder wakes up and redraws the effected area.

But I think monktus' question is can it be set in Mail.app to delete junk mail from the server right away and leave the rest of the mail on the server for the week. So checking mail on the web won't encounter duplicate spam copies but keep the recent mail copies intact.

Sorry, just so I'm clear... you're coping files from one firewire drive to another Firewire drive? OR are you copying information from an external Firewire drive to your laptop hard drive? If your using your TiBook it only has one Firewire port, in which case I think your speed degradation is...

hmm... just came back from doing the update and now my address book is acting kind of funny. Everything works fine, until you try to edit a record. Clicking on "edit" causes Address book to spontaneously jump to another address record and then shows you the editing options for that record instead.

None of the new macs I've purchased or set up have ever asked for the mac cd. That's very strange. And, of course, I concur, send it back.

Trillian also make sure you have the extension .dmg included in the file. Seems like you might be trying to use a .dmg file on an OS9 machine -- which you cannot do.
