Is there anyway of comunicating between macs and pc's on a network using ichat&rendezvous??

Of course you can use iChat to communicate with a PC if it has an AIM client. Just incase you meant iChat OR Rendezvous. -- And I'm sure you already knew that.

What if the network isn't connected to the internet? iChat won't do it, neither will AIM.

Good point bob. Is there a way to set up one of the machines to be a local AIM host?

Not that I know of. All AIM files are on the AOL Servers, names, etc.

There may be some type of local messenger available. I've never looked for one.
