    Very nice...

Indeed - the only other companies that came close to that was Commodore and Acorn Computers... Never had anything like that from companies from who I brought PC's...

    Very nice...

As you may or may not now, I brought my three iMacs towards the end of last year, so the 3 month free telephone support on my first machine is nearly up. So I received a nice telephone call from Apple asking how things were going, and if I had any problems. Didn't try and sell anything...

Leopard will be released at WWDC

I dont see it being earlier than 11th June - I see someone else had the ADC email too :) It'll probably be out around a week after the conference has finished, so around the 18th June. Only 4 months to go :)

    New in Leopard?

Indeed - would be good, as its supposed to be very reliable and fast. However, I dont see it happening, as it could take a while (even though there is a project to get it going). Or perhaps we wont see 10.5 yet because Apple are adding bootable support...

What's so great about macs? Why are they better than PCs?

You may be interesting in cheapo computers - but I certainly am not. All desktop machines I have had have trouble returning from standby. The only ones that dont, were my laptops... And I forgot to add to the list : No need to defrag

What's so great about macs? Why are they better than PCs?

Mac has : Faster searches in files Boots up and shuts down quicker (and the former probably applies to Vista too). In 10.5 - full 64-bit operating system, without driver hassles Sharp, uncomplicated display. Dont have to worry about DRM issues Dont have to worry about authorising the operating...

    Vista Stinks... Here's Why...

Its probably better to say nothing that mention loads of stuff that gets removed later - people assuming, if things are removed, that there is trouble with the design or implementation.

    Apple Store Closed.

No, it wasn't just about buying Vista - it was about comparing it to OS X, especially with multiple copies

Yes, it is very annoying - at least Apple keep rubbish programs to the minimum.

    UK Mac vs. PC ads

Yes, they are very good - somewhat funnier than the American ones. And they are UK specific, which is also good :)

Have you seen the prices for Vista ? To get 3 copies of Premium it would have £588 for 3 copies, as opposed to a family pack of 10.5 which will hopefully cost around, say, £170...

    Vista Stinks... Here's Why...

WinFS was dropped a long time ago - partially because it was apparently slow. Vista is certainly expensive to buy.

    MBP Vista Superdrive Problems

There was a post in the Boot Camp section of Apple support forums that listed where you may be able to get drivers and whatnot for Vista.

    Why

Whilst you cant give stuff away - you can make this as attractive as possible by finding a price that low enough that people would be willing to pay, and also make a profit.

    Age Of Empires 3

Have you got another card then ?
  19. M

    Why

The problem is that with iMacs, if a hard drive goes, you've got to get Apple to fix it, and then you'll get charged a bit (unless its under warrenty). In any case, it would be liable to take a fair few days. Whereas, with PC's you would take out the offending drive, put a new one in and...
