I didn't see a 64-bit option.... It worked for me on 128-bit on my wireless network consisting of a PowerBook (Tiger) and 2 Laptops (XP).

I get that sometimes on my PowerBook G4. It seems to do that when I've had it in Sleep mode for a long time or added an external peripheral whilst asleep and then tried to wake it (oops).

I have exactly the same machine as you. I'm also a Windows convert as well. The loading time is similar to Windows on the first run. After that, I put it to sleep and wake it each time and it takes about 3 seconds. Sleep wastes a little bit of power but not much, and the power usage is worth it...

If you get a drive for both, format it to FAT32. My Mac can read from NTFS drives but it can't write to them. Btw, in some cases it's cheaper to buy a hard disk and put it in an enclosure than it is to buy an external disk.

I found some great podcasts, but then again I've got interests in lots of different areas. I think podcasts will improve in the future as more people become aware of their existence.

The chrome back serves as a heat spreader to stop it getting too hot. I quite like the chrome actually. I think it makes the iPod seem to be of higher quality than models that are completely plastic, although it does add to the weight of the unit.
