Tape is not seen in /dev in MAC OS 10.4.3

OS X Server and OS X have little support for tape devices at all. As a matter of fact, I've never seen support for tape devices as regular drive devices on Mac OS since an OS 9 hack called Desktape, about ten years ago. It certainly sounds like your a linux admin, so you'll know that linux...

    Good Bye eMac?

From someone who had to support (and carry) and fix (open and close) eMacs, I won't miss 'em. I'm sure some model with an LCD is forthcoming. When the Intel Macs hit the channel, we'll most likely wonder how Apple kept the eMac in the lineup for as long as it did...

Network error - worth reporting to Apple?

Sometimes, when reverse dns is in play (like when you have some strange broadband or have been playing with DNS on your router or with a DynDNS client), the url will be reported as the reverse lookup (PTR) record. This appears to be the case here. I've seen it before.

My utility, Mac HelpMate has a feature that allows you to look up system errors. -36 is an I/O file system error. Repair permissions, and restart your computer, that should fix it if it isn't a very serious issue.

Why won't my shooters work? What is default.cfg?

This rings a bell--it is something like the Quake II graphics engine config file. It seems you might have a corrupt file. Try clearing any files named default.cfg, or make sure the permissions on your game folders allow you write access.
