Recently my computer has been shutting down for no apparent reason. I needed a new battery so I assumed that this was the reason. Now I've replaced my battery but my computer continues to completely shut down. Anyone know what might be causing this?

I downloaded it through apple. When I click on the icon on my desktop it opens to Quicktime740_Tiger.pkg. But I've already downloaded it,

I just installed Quicktime740 Tiger to my computer and after restarting, I can not find it anywhere on my computer but the download option is still on my desktop. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
