I just installed Quicktime740 Tiger to my computer and after restarting, I can not find it anywhere on my computer but the download option is still on my desktop.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Well how did you download it, through software or a manual download? If it lis on you desktop then it might be disk image (looks like a mounted disk but is white in color) or a zip file. So double click in and see if it opens a disk image to show you the install package.

I downloaded it through apple. When I click on the icon on my desktop it opens to Quicktime740_Tiger.pkg. But I've already downloaded it,

If you have the .pkg file, that's the installer. You then run that to install Quicktime. If you already did that, and the installer asked to to restart, then you should be OK. Check for the version of your QuickTime player, which will be in your Applications folder.

Thanks DeltaMac!

The reason I was confused - and still am is because I'm trying to transfer a video onto my ipod, but to do so, I need to export it first. I thought that by downloading the newest version of quick time I would be able to do so, but it's now telling me to get Quicktime 7 pro. Any ideas?
