Client iMac is 10.6.2 and server is Snow Leopard Server 10.6.2. Of the 5 client machines, only 1 does not search the server. How come? In a previous unanswered question, this same computer takes about 10 minutes to authenticate to this same server when clicking on the computer name in the...

10.4.11 client connect to 10.6 servers Open Directory

It sounds like you didn't specify the "HOMES" folder as a sharepoint. Be sure that while in Server Admin, under File Sharing, you enable that folder as a Sharepoint and then be sure to enable it as an automount. The Automount checkbox is towards the bottom of the window.

Address book disappeared while adding new contacts - older Macbook not using Leopard

No, I don't think it is a virus. At most, you have OS corruption. Verify your HD by using Disk Utility to make sure that is ok. http://www.mikevincenti.com/macintosh/maintenance.html Please follow "Pro-Active Care". If all that is good, we may be looking at a corrupt user account or corrupt OS...

10.4.11 client connect to 10.6 servers Open Directory

I'm sorry; I'm still confused. Do I understand you correctly when I say that you have workstations with 2 user accounts; an Admin account and a Student account. When students login locally to the machine, they save their work to the server. If that much is correct... What is the "OD side?" What...
