I archived and installed, but the problem occurs again (actually 3 times) after a long inactive spell. As I mentioned in another thread, I'll try the new user account when it occurs again and see what happens. This apparently was something that was inherited with the 10.3.4 update.

Are the symptoms as I describe in my tread yesterday? "Mac apps run but don't show" If so, try to do what Zammy-Sam suggests and let me know what happens.

I renamed the AppleGMACEthernet.kext folder and removed it from System/Library/Extensions and replaced as suggested with one from another machine and I seem to be back on line. THANKS!!!!!!

I lost my access to the Internet/local network through my ethernet port. I rebooted in OS 9 and the access was ok. I don't know what the Mac OS 10.2.8 update did, but I really need a solution soon. -- I'm sending this email from another machine.
