    Potential ibook consumers

A dead pixel would be the least of my concerns. How can you edit graphics on a display with only 8MB of video memory, a maximum of 1024x768. The iBook is a laptop for the "everyday" person. If you want to do graphic editing, get something with more video memory. I am not dissing Apple at all...

    10.0.3 Update is out!

I think I heard something about icons in the finder window appearing better in a list when there are a lot of items in the folder. Other than that, squat I think. I know it has the updates of 10.0.2, so you can update from 10.0.1 superrcat

    This OS is not ready...

OS X works fine for me. I am just waiting for the commerical apps to get here. Once that's here, I can make it my default OS and rid myself of Windows...seeing this is Unix, I can do things that I would do in Windows, and now don't have to worry about using a horrible, out-of-date, ugly, "slap...

OS X connection to Novell ?

Well, there is no support for IPX in OS X so, there goes that. I talked to apple and you can use a BSD program that can connect to IPX maybe you can try that.

    Give me a BREAK

One thing that I found out "VERY" useful is if you boot off a Norton Utilites CD and defragment the volume, it increases performance a lot. Also, you can modify the Dock in many different ways, you can decrease the size, turn off the bouncing icons, and even get rid of the magnification if you...

Dock just like a Start Menu

Oh, I was not refering to the Dock as a "Start Menu" at all. I was responding to people who were complaining about the idea of having it because they hate the Dock. I love the Dock, and do not like the icons on the desktop. I was just trying to give an alternative to those people. That's why I...

    OS X ON PC

You are saying you want OS X ported to x86, but I think you are talking about Aqua. Darwin is a subsystem and I am sure you don't really want just Darwin on a computer. Aqua is property to Apple, and there is no way in hell you are going to see it on another platform unless it has a nice shiny...

    Novell Client? Please?

I really hope that Prosoft or Novell (Doubt it) develop some way to connect to an IPX network or to NDS. I really would use OS X as a main OS, (I'm really trying) if that was there. Apple said that BSD IPX apps would work, but ugh..I don't think I could recommend that to an entire University...

Dock just like a Start Menu

People have been upset that they don't have spring folders or don't take the Start button from windows, but if you simply make an alias of the Hard Disk and drag it to the Dock, go to Finder, Preferences, and turn off Desktop Icons, you can have something close, if not better. When you hold you...
