    This may have to do with journaling on 10.2.7, but when i look in my volumes folder (boot up a terminal b/c it doesn't show up otherwise) i see a file called "HD" and "HD\". Periodically, I'll see something like "._192.168.1.107" and the like (my private network). Anyone know what/why these...

    LordSoven (sorry if i misspelled your name)...on some brands of modems you can actually telnet into them. That's how a lot of the original ones worked (and a lot of them were hacked).

    yeah, apple's login items only work for afp volumes...it def won't work for smb...i forget why though.

    i have samba mounts coming from my linux machine, mounted them fine, etc. and put them in the login items area (i.e. just dragged and dropped them there). they show up as folders so great, i go to logout and when i log back in one shows up as unknown and the other shows up as a folder, however...

    I upgraded from 10.2.3 to 10.2.4 when it came out and i just reinstalled dec dev tools and the x11 sdk so that i can compile programs under x11. in either case, i'm trying to compile glib 1.2.10 and i keep getting an error when running ./configure that says checking host system type...

    Batch adding text to images?

    where was this located in ps6...i'm looking for it in 7, but haven't run across it yet. the only place i've seen it is under file>automate>picture package but that takes multiple pictures and puts them together on a page as far as my playing with it has gone. thanks

    Batch adding text to images?

    Does anyone know of a program that will take a folder of images and add text to the bottom of them (like a web site address) as a batch process. I've seen a few programs that do this (they call it a watermark, even though its not a real one), but only for winbloze. anyone who knows of anything...
