I figured out XSounds. If you install "For all Users," whatever one user sets all users get. If you install for "Current User only," no problems. The icons were just cut and pasted in the finder info window.

I have custom icons for my drives that are Vargas girls. To my surprise, they also show up on my girlfriend's account. Can I prevent this? It doesn't seem right. She don't want chicks for drive icons ... Also, she gets my XSounds ...?

The problem seemed to be the media. Until I got some Sony discs I could not figure out where the problem was. Turns out other than the media there wasn't one. DO NOT USE MEMOREX MEDIA! I never got one disc to work. I still haven't tried the normal video tab in toast with the new media though...

I'm trying different burning software now. The copy of the working disc made previously on this machine didn't work. Do you think I could make a working dvd by just dropping the audio and video_ts folders and burning with the finder?

The brand is the same I've always used, although I have several different. It's not the player(s) it's definetly the writer. I'm going to try a disc copy with an old disk that works on the players.

Sweet success! Here are the 3 culprits if anyone else is having the same problem: Toast Video CD Support.qtx MPG4-DIVX MPG4 I moved these files out of the QT folder and no more messages! I don't know if video cds will still work but at least now I know what's causing the errors. Thanks!

I don't have any Microsoft software running ... None in my startup or login items. I've searched and searched for the cause of these errors and can't find them. I'm sure it's slowing my machine down being that before it does anything it kicks out these errors.
