    Apple to buy Palm!?

Apple just might be in position to buy troubled Palm, Inc. They're looking for a buyer and it would fill an empty slot in their product matrix. Good or bad? Would they call it a Newton? I dunno... judge for yourself. Follow this link for the story. Also, it's a cool site.

    boot in Win NT mode

I want to be able to play Adventure! on OSX. Just because it has the greatest line of any video game ever: "It is dark. If you proceed, it is likely you will fall into a pit." That is classic!

    boot in Win NT mode

Rumor has it that Gates used to keep a 20th Aniversary Mac in his office because it matched his desk and chair. He said it was to test Office 2000 for Mac. What a skeez.

Can I Download MacOS X for Free?

That's exactly what I meant, however you put it much more succinctly. I'm long winded. heh. And as far as $30 and how relative it is... if you have the resources to have a machine capable of running OSX, chances are you've got the money to pony up for the disk. I mean, c'mon. That works out...

    boot in Win NT mode

I've got an SNES emulator for my powerbook 1400. I love it!

    boot in Win NT mode

But in a good way. What about those rumors that Apples Kbase was running on NT machines first, then they switched over to OSX Server when people found out? Anyone else hear about that? Yah, I don't know how to classify that post either, but this is getting fun and silly. I want more stuff like...

Bluescreen? I don't mean special FX!

Apple says that they like you to have 128RAM at least for the virtual memory, though I can't see why that would cause the bluescreen. My recomendation: Install on a new partition. Trust me, after 12 installs everything works better (and faster) after installing on a second partition. That's the...

    boot in Win NT mode

You know you're stuff. After a quick email from Yves: "The frontend of MSN, all that's actually served, is Win2000 now. All the customer and client databases are on Solaris machines. The interact well together. We've been using 2000 since June of this year solidly. We started experimenting in...

    boot in Win NT mode

Before you start telling my how to post and not post, know that I'm not some knob that says "Gee!" when I see colors on my screen. I've been in the industry for quite awhile. If I didn't know this from a reliable source, I wouldn't have posted it. That said, it's common knowledge (though...

Can I Download MacOS X for Free?

I think it's important to realize that there is a decent amount of carbonized software on the disk, too. The audio player aloe is better than some that you can buy for $50, and it doesn't go down from a glitchy MP3 or whatever. $30 is paltry compared to the types of info Apple provides with the...

    boot in Win NT mode

Actually, what's really cool is that Microsoft's website (both corporate AND MSN) are both hosted on Unix machines! What's that all about!? If they're trying to get Windows to be used as a secure and viable server platform they need to have faith in themselves. Bastards.

Can I Download MacOS X for Free?

Beta software should be free. To echo what my friends and I have been saying since we got our copies, "That's why it's beta!" But a public beta is different. They have support (though be it, not much) on their website that costs money. Usually when you get a beta copy of something you don't...

    Found more fun!

Option clicking File changes the Close Window command to Close All Windows. Also, option clicking Window changes Bring All to Front to Arrange All. Cool, eh?

    Airport?

I've tried everything, and there's no way to get online with Airport in OSX. What you could do is try rebooting in 9. That should work for you. Word is that the 1.1 release (or update 1.0, as they're calling it) may support Airport. But not yet. Sorry, homie.

    Found the Restart Button...

If you hold down Option while clicking on the Special menu, you will see your old frind, the Restart command. Be warned, however, that not all machines will be restarted with it. Some Powerbooks will only shut down. Cool trick, though. Anyone found the Easter Eggs yet?

Switching Startup Disk from OS9 to OS X and Back again

Option click = restart. Cool trick. This is going to be fun. What other tricks do we know? There's a whole section of this site for it. Show us your tricks! lol Anyway, I've heard about ALOT of Easter Eggs. I want them.

Bluescreen? I don't mean special FX!

Now if I could just get the Startup Disk control panel to work, I'd be in really good shape. Thanks for the help, even if it was in caps. ;-)

Switching Startup Disk from OS9 to OS X and Back again

My PB G3 | Bronze does the same thing. When I hold down the option key to boot into OS9, it just keeps rebooting. Try the system disk util. It's pretty good. So far, anyway. And does anyone know why Apple left out the Restart command from the special menu? That's a damn classic!
