    I've been trying to do open -p commands on my Mac, but so far it's failing. [localhost:~] me% open -p see Sep 07 23:59:23 open[535] No such file: /Users/me/-p Sep 07 23:59:23 open[535] LSOpenFromURLSpec() returned -10814 for application (null) path /Users/me/see. Sep 07 23:59:23...

    AppleEvents in terminal

    Is there a terminal app that does AppleEvents? I'm pretty keen on AppleEvents and have been working with it on Radio Userland. Apparently there's a Perl module for this, but I'm pretty clumsy at Perl. Can anyone help?:confused:

    Changing <pre>if [ "${CRASHREPORTER:=-NO-}" = "-YES-" ]; then</pre> to <pre>if [ "${CRASHREPORTER:=-YES-}" = "-YES-" ]; then</pre> in /System/Library/StartupItems/CrashReporter/CrashReporter will enable crashreporter, which records all crashes at /usr/libexec/CrashReporter.

    mac won't boot up

    My iMac Rev. C is being a serious bitch -- it won't start up. I have no idea why. I normally use it at night when it's connected to the Ethernet line, but now (without the Ethernet) it is not working. I just booted the Mac and have been waiting for the past 10-20 minutes for the smiley...

    dock customisation

    I realised that I couldn't get the Dock to fill up the whole of the bottom part of the screen. This isn't irritating, but I find it more UI-ly to get it to do that. And apparently there hasn't been a hack to this yet. Doh. Can anyone help?:confused:
