YESSSSS. i got it back working. First of all a huge thanks to everyone who helped me. I believe it may of been my ipod triggering it all, as i formatted my ipod and re installed itunes (for the 10th time) and it all worked smoothly :) Cheers again!

I wonder if it has been triggered by my ipod..? i dont see how thats possible though. Also i believe (from my basic understanding) that its only an itunes problem; not a audio problem - because ive been using QuickTime as an alternative... What should my next step be? take it into an apple store?

The speech tab in system preferences was set as "off", and i also logged into another user and itunes did the same as before - loading up (with the rainbow mouse icon) and then closing on me. any other suggestions?

Hey Zammy-Sam, thanks for your advice.. Sadly it wasnt successful! :( After Itunes updated the files it 'unexpectedly quit' on me again. Any ideas whats wrong? Andrew

Hey all, first of all cheers for reading this.. Everytime i open up Itunes (latest version, osX, Pbook G4), it opens up and then 'unexpectedly quits' after 3secs max of being open. How can i stop it from doing this? Its really frustrating. Thanks all for any help, Andrew
