Thx. This seems complicated but does answer my question.

It doesn't seem like you can change your "Short Name". Am I wrong about this?

I can create a new user in system prefs under accounts and give them a name and password just fine. But when I try to login in as this new user I get denied everytime. Does anyone have any idea what the issue could be? This started when I installed Tiger. Thanks
