I ended up ignoring what the Maxtor manual said and going to their web site and downloading the latest driver (extension) and threw on my machine and the drive mounted . Thanks for your input.
Can't get firewire hard drive to mount. I upgraded to OS 9.1 to see if that helped (Maxtor drive min. req. is 9.1).
It still will not mount. Any suggestions?
