How can I view the Unix directories and files in the OS X finder? I need to move files to and from directories such as /etc and /usr, but can't seem to find a preference button that says "View All Files - including Darwin directories." Please help... :(

I've read that OS X ships with an Apple-edited version of CC, which can be used to compile apps in the terminal... I can't find where it is on my newly installed system. Do I need to add CC? or is it hiding? I've searched for it with the finder and still no luck. Please help :(
