    DVI Problems. Screen not found

Hi all, I wonder if anyone can offer any advice. I'm afraid this is a "working one day but not the next" type of problem. I have a G4 Powerbook (OS X 10.4.5) and a Formac 2010 Digital Display which have been working fine together for about a year. Plugged the DVI lead from the display...

    Netgear router problems

I wonder if anyone can help me with a problem I'm having with my netgear ADSL router. It works fine wirelessly but as soon as I plug connect a computer via ethernet it seems to lose the connection. It has worked fine before but I have recently repositioned it, on a new socket that I've...

Turning off BT Broadband Access Remotely

Just a quick update for anyone who is interested. You DO need a password for BT broadband (despite what BT helpdesk told me) and it's the same as the primary email password. So, changing my primary email account password also stopped the router connecting which was the desired effect. Thanks all.

Turning off BT Broadband Access Remotely

Thanks for your reply Zammy-Sam. I think you're right in that there's not much I can do on the WAN side of things. Such a shame that you don't need a password to connect to BT broadband because I could just change that from the BT Website (in the same way that I might change my email password...

Turning off BT Broadband Access Remotely

Hi all, Hope this is the right area to post this question. I want to control use of my home broadband connection when I am work so that I can stop my children accessing the internet at certain times of the day when I'm not there (for example when they are supposed to be doing their...

    iTunes play list problems

Found the solution! The answer is to import the following file from the external hard disk; home>music>iTunes>iTunes Music Library.xml using the "import" command under the file menu. Simple!

    iTunes play list problems

Hi, I've lost my iTunes playlists! I had to erase my Mac's HDD to reinstall OS X so I backed the whole lot up to an external Firewire drive, reinstalled the OS and then let the startup "wizard" copy my files and applications back from the external drive to the Mac's HDD. All went fine...

Photoshop wont start up - KERN PROTECTION FAILURE

Thanks for the tip and for taking the trouble to give such a detailed reply. The solution in the end was a reinstall which, thanks to Mac OS X is pretty painless. If it's of interest to anyone, I used the free to download program "Carbon Clone" to back the whole disk up to an external...

Photoshop wont start up - KERN PROTECTION FAILURE

I've recently upgraded to OS X 10.4.3 and I now can't start Photoshop. The dock icon bounces up and down for a while and then nothing happens. The crash log reports the following: Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001) Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE (0x0002) at 0x00000000 From what I've...

    Uploading to BT webspace

Thanks so much for the reply. I have actually tried Passive mode to no avail. I think your second suggestion, that they block you if you're not on their network, is probably correct. However, if that is the case, I'd have expected the problem to be more widely known. I can't seem to find...

    Uploading to BT webspace

Hi, I wonder if anyone has had the same problem as me and can offer any help: I use Transmit to upload stuff to my website. The website is hosted by BT. I can connect to the ftp server with no problems as long as I connect to the internet via my BT broadband account. If I try to connect to...
