I am working on the same issue. I have tried almost all the different connection senarios possible. My systems are as follows
Primary
G4 PB 1.67ghz 1GB RAM 10.4.3 ALL updates installed
Secondary
G4 PB 867mhz 1GB RAM 10.4.3 ALL updates installed
Network
802.11B wireless over linksys...
