i've been using imovie hd for years (and have continued using it even though the new imovie has been out for awhile) and i love it. i planned to continue using it but my new camcorder won't import into imovie hd. every year i go through all my videos from the year, bring clips together and...

oh, yes, the videos are annual photo/videos of my family that i make so totally my own. i back up the videos to an external drive (they're too big to keep on my internal drive anyway) but i was just hoping to have something like the archive function so that all the videos, photos and idvd theme...

would that save it with all the videos and photos in case i change computers one day?

i have no idea how to do this! what program?

i posted this thread a year ago and this week i made a different dvd and i'm getting the same error message on a new imac. any new thoughts on this problem? i really want to be able to archive this dvd.

thanks. i tried using pacifist with the 10.5.8 update, and also with my leopard disc and my original install discs. it's still crashing as soon as it opens. so strange...is there a reason that a whole new install also wouldn't work? i just want to start from scratch...i don't even need my...

my leopard disc is 10.5.6, is that okay?

removing the application support files didn't work, sadly. is there no way to uninstall and then reinstall on my own? or does it just make sense to buy pacifist?

it seems to have the current format as NTFS. then in the drop-down menu, there's a choice of MS-DOS (FAT), Mac OS Extended (Journaled), Mac OS Extended, Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive, Journaled), Mac OS Extended (Case-Sensitive).

i recently bought a new WD My Book Essential (not the mac version) as a backup drive for my imac. i already have an older My Book that's totally dedicated to backing up through the time machine. i have an even older one that's full so i need a new one to be used just to upload video directly...

yup. when i try to download any of them (6.0.2, 6.0.3) it just tells me that i don't have the older version on my computer. which i don't because i upgraded to ilife '09 a couple of months ago.

okay, i tried to download a few of the imovies on the apple site but it won't let me. guess i can't go backwards anymore!

thanks...there seem to be a few different imovie downloads on that site. which one should i be getting? i've been trying to work more with imovie 09 today and i just can't figure it out.
