    Oh yeah,i forgot, it's yaboot, my bad... it's installed by default in ubuntu linux. Except it only adds the Linux to boot but not Mac OS X, as far as i can recall i only add two or three lines in yaboot configuration file to boot MacOS X and Linux as options.

    MacOS X Disk Utility to partition your harddisk, one is your MacOS X partition, one is a Linux Primary partition and the last is for the Linux swap. Then install Linux, after installing, edit the GRUB bootloader so you can dual boot your MacOS X and Linux.

    you entered the serial number of the Mac Mini, typed the password, and it doesn't want to go next? I suspecct Mac OS X Server does not work on Mac Minis, instead it only works on Xserves. It can work on Mac Mini, perhaps Apple makes sure it doesn't work on any other type of Mac hardware...

    Usually when you upload a file into the FTP server, the file permissions should be under the username of the ftp user that uploaded the data. So if you're using your own compiled chrooted Apache server instead of Apple's version, it can't read that user data, unless you run Apache as root...

    Try Ubuntu Linux, after installing it, read up on GRUB loader to dual-boot Mac OS X with Linux. But before you install, use Disk Utility to partition the disk, with primary and swap.

    How does file association work?

    I'm not sure how it works, but i do know how to change the default file association, select the file, press Command+I (Apple+I), then under "Open With", select which application you want it to open by default, or add a new one, i'm not sure how to remove it from the list though.
