    QuickTime - 1080i Playback - Strange Problem

Well, you're using Quicktime 10, I assume. QT 7 didn't deinterlace at all. You're right, it does a lousy deinterlacing. And, as different as people can be, I love media players that play media just as is. So, if you want good deinterlacing you should process the clip in a software that is...

How to make my imac run fast

When my Final Cut machines get lazy, sometimes the only help is to unplug them from power for 20 seconds. Sounds stupid, yes, but it helps. That happens rather rarely though. It seems to me that macs can pretty much slow down when the network (Xsan) is slow of response. You might want to check...

need blu ray authoring software that supports region coed

This is probably off topic here, I've searched through all the web and found no answer. Knowing you guys always had an answer in the past, I thought I'd just ask you. I need to burn blu ray discs and they need to have region code, and not just the one for the continent where I'm located...

    Dvd Burning Error Code 0x80020022

whoa, reapiring permisions does it? My solution was getting an external device. Never had any problems with that one so far. Now I'm curious if my repaired permissions will bring the internal one back to life.

Nah, I was stupid enough not reading the second page in this thread. Sorry for being a moron...

Trouble opening .mov files on QuickTime

Somehow I doubt that it's a missing codec, that usually results in displaying a white screen in quicktime. I'd rather believe that the files simply got corrupted. vlc can still open them but Quicktime can't like with mpg files that haven't been downloaded entirely. Have you checked in vlc if...

    display problem after 10.5.7 update

after creating a custom resolution in SwitchResX and making it the used one, 1920x1200 was back in the monitor pane. Lots of restarts required though. If you wanna see a really weirdly tiled screen, set it 1920x1200 @ 50 Hz. ;-)

    display problem after 10.5.7 update

Hi people, I use a 1920x1200 display on my mac mini, 1.66 GHz Core Duo, first revision. After the update it seems like the mac tries to tread the monitor as if it were a tv. In the display settings 1920x1080 is the highest resolution available, only framerates of 50 Hz (PAL) and 60 Hz...

Turning off the start-up sound (Ta-Da)

Just stumbled over Psst, an app that seems to do what you need. I haven't tried it out myself, though. http://www.mistatree.org/Freeware/Psst/ Hope this helps

    Photostudio misses TWAIN library

Thank you very much for your help. Doing this and reinstalling the scanner driver afterwards fixed it.

    Photostudio misses TWAIN library

Hi all, probably a stupid question, but I don't know much about these things: I used Arcsoft's Photostudio that came along with my Canon scanner for scanning, and it worked out well in the past. Now, without changing anything, when I hit the scanner icon a message pops up, saying "no...

    Time Machine Speculation

That's how they do it? I always had the feeling that my mac was speeding up after running the cron scripts manually, hahaha. That shows how much computer speed can be a matter of ones mind. ;)

    Time Machine Speculation

What I don't understand is that things like that are sceduled late at night. A normal person switches off the computer when he/she has doen his/her work. Computers eat lots of electric power, and with laptops it's even harder to leave them on all the time. Imo it would be more of sense tho...

    Flash clips not playing

That was it, thank you MisterMe. It doesn't make sense that Apple sets it to "on" by default, does it?

no privileges with Tiger as ftp client

I just noticed that I can access ftp servers using 'go to' ---> 'connect to server', which is in first sight a cool feature, showing the server on the dektop like a disc. Unfortunately I am not allowed to read or write on that server, even though I logged in correctly. Any ideas?
