ya know, in some ways i agree with you there! i am still a bit peeved at the amount of junk that makes it through the filters and into my mailbox and i am also considering dropping the account when it is up for renewal this fall. yeah, that can-spam act has really helped the spam problem...

i agree with billybob.... icab has potential to be a lean, mean, browsing machine....but until the thing can run with a *lot* more stability i will be sticking to omniweb and fizzilla

I'm another Canadian.....and I am very seriously looking at ordering an iPod....hell, I am still using an old analog cassette walkman..time to move up! As for the Canadian price, well, at current exchange rates, the $599cdn at the Apple store makes it actually *cheaper* than $399us.......

I have *always* used a Kensington mouse....the 4 button Thinking Mouse came with me through 3 different Macs - it finally got retired when I got my dual800 ADB-less Quicksilver. I bought the Kensington Optical Pro which is quite nice, although I agree that its hard to pick up without clicking...

*If* you have the $$ and are using OS X most of the time, defintely go for the dual.....I bought the dual 800 and love it.....this will last me for years.....

How can we expect a moderator to keep things proper when they don't know themselves what is proper and what isn't? And I disagree....a moderator in a forum such as this should have *some* reasonable technical knowledge....so they know when to close threads, move it to another more appropriate...

If that were the case, then a subject line of something like "Urgent - need help to view .avi file" would have been a much better way to get the message out. We could see the topic and help out if we know the answer.

TRIP: Look out...here comes another rant.... Must every thread you start be labeled IMPORTANT? Bad bad etiquette again. If you keep it up people will just ignore your threads...you are NOT the most important person in the universe (contrary to what you may think). Just how someone that...

I don't want to rag on one of the moderators here...but.... Posting in the help section with a subject line like that (IMPORTANT - Please Read!!!!) for something that is really no more important that anyone else's queries here is not very good etiquette....and I'd think an admin/moderator...

Glad you're drive is up and running again.... I'd not be so quick to blame Apple and 10.1 though...I've not seen anyone else report that problem (and I frequent the macfixit forums too)......it is probably just one of those isolated incidents that happens from time to time...

if you boot from your os 9.x install cd, try seeing if you can just update the hard disk driver in drive setup. that *may* work, if you are lucky. a bootable diskwarrior cd might help too, if you have one. as for your files, if they are *that* important, you should be keeping a backup copy...

you *are* talking about a M$ product...remember, this is the company that shipped windoze 2000 with 32000 known bugs..... although in fairness, their mac shop seems to normally have slightly better standards.....

all you need to do is look at all the threads in here from people who have u/l or d/l bad images, or don't know how/what to do with them after and it's obvious why apple did not make it a download. yes, all these ftp sites and hotline/carracho servers are illegal, and the admins here sould be...
