samsung printer

I was finally forced to buy a new machine with a new OS. Anyone have any idea what printer driver I can use for keep my trusty old Samsung 1710 working? The original driver is too old to even be allowed to be installed onto this machine. Please tell me how I can keep this great 20+ year old...

Purchased a ML1430 Samsung laser printer for my son at college. He's on an imac using OSX. The problem is the amount of time it takes his computer to get the info to the printer; sometimes up to 1-2 minutes just for text alone. He is using the latest driver, version 3 and still the same problem...
