I'm selling my G4 450 (getting a new one) and since I'm not selling my 10.2 disks with it (you don't get the full 10.2 with a new machine - just a restore disk). I'm trying to install on a freshly partitioned internal drive with my 10.0 disk (then use my 10.1 upgrade disk and run all the updates), but when I boot with the 10.0 CD I get all kinds of bizzare lines of text on the start up screen. It just won't work.
I'm wondering if my firmware is too new? Is installing 10.0 history for me, or is there some other problem? I was hoping to have the machine all up to 10.1.5 for the sale - that way the buyer can have some system disks and choose to buy 10.2 if they want to.
Or am I completely nuts - will the restore disk I get with a new machine be all I need until Apple makes me buy 10.3 in 9 months or whatever?
