How can I update my 10.1 OS to 10.1.2?? I did it once, but now I installed OS 10.1 in a new hard drive and even if I run Software Update, I can't make the .2 to appear...
Well, for all of you who also need it, I have found that if you install OS 10.1, you can't get all the updates at once. You have to install the updates secuencially as they appeard one after another. I mean, in the Software Update Window, you won't see ALL the updates avaiable. You'll first see the first ones for )S 10.1, then the second ones, and so on. After you install an update, you have to run Software update again and there it will appeard the new ones.
It's strange!
no, not strange. that's how it has always been. notice anytime anybody is advised to reinstall or reformat, they are also warned they will have to go thru all the updates one by one.
of course those threads are in the troubleshooting forum and not in general disscussion. i don't know why i would have thought you should have looked there
next time post help wanted questions in the correct forum. you might even get answers that way.
Well, this is my next avaiable update.... It's full of stuff that I will never use and I don't need like brazilian language support or cannon printer drivers, and so on.
Do I need to install all of these items just to have the following update avaiable??
sepicolugnut is correct. Apple even has a warning with the printer drivers to only download and install the ones you need. when you highlight any update, you can read a description of it
