10.2.2 Won't Install

10.2.2 is out...but I can't use it. I ran Software Update and it downloads the whole package, but when it finishes I get a message saying there was an error and it cannot install anything. So I downloaded the disk image from Apple.com, but it won't mount. The .bin file extracts into a .dmg file, but when I open it the disk does not actually show up anywhere. Doing a search for 10.2.2 only reveals the .bin file and the .dmg file.

Is there anything I could do? I thought about doing the same thing on my roomie's G4 and burning the disk image to a CD and then running it on my machine, but maybe there is a deeper problem here.

Thanks a lot

do you have any system modifications?

try rebuilding your database through terminal:

sudo /usr/libexec/locate.updatedb

this may help, it may not, but it won't hurt to try...

(wait a few minutes for it to finish... there is no progress bar)

I just rebuilt the database, but it didn't work. As far as I know I don't have any system modifications, but a few days ago I deleted some of the caches in system/library/caches. I have problems with programs quitting unexpectedly, and someone on this site suggested I try that.
