10.2.4 freezeson startup

I've already installed 10.2.4 like 3 times on the machine it's on now, w/o one crash, but I reinstalled my system again, so I updated to 10.2.4 again. Now with the blue bar and the text, it hangs at around the middle, and the bar starts with "Welcome to Macintosh." but, the blue is already 40% there when it starts. Help?

Wow, I remeber i had installed my system about 7 times in one day, and i still don't know what was the problem. I did zap the p-ram, I did move any nonApple memory chip to the back slot, making the first slots the memory that came with my G4. I did get a new hard drive, which i reformated and partitioned. System runs great now, "knock on wood."
