I am fighting a network performance issue with OSX Server 10.2.8. I can copy from the server at blazing speeds. For example a 450MB file copies in 47 to 52 seconds in multiple tests. But copy that same file BACK to the server and it takes 17 to 23 minutes.
I have experimented with various network components, including a gigabit switch. Most importantly though, when I connect the server direct to a mac workstation with no switch in between, I still get performance in the ranges described above.
I read in some forum elsewhere (and I wish I knew where) that this may be a known issue and it is not affecting 10.2.6 (server). But I haven't tested that because I don't know how to revert back to 10.2.6.
Your experience and feedback are greatly respected and appreciated.
