10.3.9 G4 Mac booting into Open Firmware?

Hi there,

All of a sudden, my G4 450mhz running 10.3.9 is launching into a grey Open Firmware screen and forces me to type boot-mac to start up the machine. Is my computer freaking out? What's up and can I make it boot the normal way again?

The auto-boot setting in your NVRAM might be wrong - try this in a terminal window:

Code: 
sudo nvram 'auto-boot?'='true'
and then see what happens when you reboot.
 
oops... now i get nothing...the mac does nothing on boot, the monitor stays blue and shows no response...

what should I do ??
 
well.. i reset the pram and the nvram and now it's booting... but still to the open firmware page

Yep.. thanks. I already saw that document and did reset the PRAM and NVRAM but the problem persists. Any other reasons this could be happening?

by the way.. I did hear some beeps coming out of the machine the other day.
