I'm on a 15" G4 PowerBook running 10.3.9. I was trying to install iTunes 5, and it wouldn't let me, claiming iTunes was still open (though it wasn't). I restarted, re-downloaded, and on trying to open the .dmg file, the system crashed. On restart from that, all my Mac settings were gone. My desktop appearance is back to the default. Safari has no bookmarks. Mail has none of my accounts, and more worryingly, none of my saved mail. Address Book has no contacts, and iCal has no idea when I'm supposed to be anywhere. Adium doesn't have my IM name. A quick "find" for my mail has turned up nothing. I've restarted, I'm signed in under my usual username. Please tell me all this isn't gone forever?
