10.4.3 startup time

Hi,

I experience long startup time after the 10.4.3 update on my iMac 450 DV+.
How long time it took before the update I can't tell, but now it takes about 55 sec with the light grey screen with the dark grey Apple logo, and the another 10 secs with the blue "Starting Mac OS X" screen. In total 1 min and 5 secs until the login screen is loaded. This is definitely longer than it was before the update. I've done the repair permissions and the fsck in singel user mode. Any ideas?

Download OnyX, run all the maintainance scripts, and clear system cache. The first time you restart after the clearing of cache, it will be a bit slow, because it has to recreate the cache, but after that the speed should improve.

OnyX can be found here: http://www.titanium.free.fr/

How much RAM and available hard drive space do you have on that Mac? OS X 10.4.3 likes to have at LEAST 256 MB to be usable, more than that to be enjoyable. Also, you need to have at least 1 GB available for OS X otherwise it will slow to a crawl.
