I'd like one printer to work. In my house I have both a KM2300DL, and a 2400W. I know they do not work out of the box for the mac.

I've done all sorts of research and nothing has worked, one of the workarounds requires PPC macs. Here we have both a 13" Macbook, and a 20" iMac.

I do have a Linksys wireless router.

All help is appreciated.
 
It would have been just a wee bit more helpful if you had given the manufacturer of your printers. As it is, I had to do some research to determine that they are KonicaMinolta printers. KonicaMinolta supports neither of these printers on MacOS or MacOS X. However, the 2300 DL has an available CUPS driver. Supposedly, the 2300 DL driver also supports the 2400W.
 
That makes no sense to me...

Is there a way you could walk me through it?

By the way both the 2300DL and the 2400W are hooked up into Windows PCs, one is on the network as MSHome, and the other Workgroup.

Both are running Windows XP.
 
Maybe Thursby's "Dave" would work. You can get a trial here:

http://www.thursby.com/products/dave.html

It'll allow you to access any printer shared on a PC from a Mac. The software is universal, so your macs should work. However, I think both PC's must be on the same network (both should be a part of MSHome or both a part of Workgroup). I've used the software before, and getting it set up was pretty easy.

I have no idea what macmastah is talking about because Thursby's Dave is not needed. The solution to your problem lies in MacOS X's built-in software and an opensource CUPS driver. The fact that you are sharing your Windows printers does not change the fact. I have shown you where to get the required CUPS driver. Your MacOS X Help menu will give you the rest.
 
Yeah, MisterMe's right, you don't necessarily have to use Dave. It may just make things easier.

Let us know what works.
