15" lcd not same as 17" crt, wish people would stop

Steve and some people say that a 15" LCD has the same view size as a 17" CRT. why do they think that? It is flat out wrong. a 17" will have a view size of 15.9" or 16". This is a lot bigger then 15". Steve and others say a 17" LCD has same vie size as 19" CRT. That's wrong too. I have a 19" and it's 18" view size. bigger then 17" view size.
I also have a 22" Viewsonic P225f with 20" view and it's nice.
 
In another thread, we discussed this. Would you please head over there? BTW: it doesn't depend on the "physical" view size, it depends on how the human eye realizes the space, and in this case, 15'' Flat equals to aprox. 16'' CRT, which again would be 17'' CRT since they often only have 16'' viewable.
 
c'mon... it's one inch! unless you're that into the size, it doesn't really matter... plus i've seen nice 15 inch flat panels that are amazingly just the exact same size as a 17 inch CRT... believe me, 1 inch isn't going to kill you

and about the 1024x768 screen resolution... i never work any higher cuz it is too small... it's perfectly fine for me
