185 Gig drive

I've updated to 10.2.5 and now my 185 Gig drive is only recognised as a 128gig drive.. what gives?

What model is your computer?
Do you use a PCI ATA controller card? Could it be the driver for the card being incompatible with 10.2.5?

There's been a lot of trouble with 10.2.5 so it wouldn't surprise me if it's actually a bug in the OS.

Isn't there a 137gb barrier with IDE? You might need a ultraATA133 controller card.

There are firewire hdds (lacie) that are 500gb...and I assime that they dont need any special routine since they're ext.

He just posted that he has a Sonnet ATA133 - that would be a controller card.

Yes, I have a sonnet tech ATA133. I have never heard tha there was a limit on drive size on the native ATA channel. In fact the drive works perfectly on apple hardware. Once the firmware was installed the drive worked flawlessly.

BTW the LaCie 500gb drives are multiple drives stitched together to form one biiiig volume. Not a terribly good idea, since you double or triple your chances of the volume failing.
