2 Hard drives/ Can only access 1

I have a G3 Blue. It has been upgraded with a new hard drive and memory. I am currently on 10.4.9 I think. This morning the computer was making an odd noise and I had to reboot it. When it came up the old hard drive from 3 years ago was the only one I could access. How can I get to the new hard drive again?

How big are the hard disks?

I'm not too savvy. This was my ex-husband's computer. The first HD is the original. The second HD is 250 gig I think.

The built-in hard disk controller is incompatible with hard disks larger than 128GB. More info.

If all other variables are in place, (i.e. jumpers set correctly, formatted correctly) it should still see the drive. It will only read 128GB.
