Apple has announced the "Live on Stage" event to be in the Apple Stores this Friday, May 2nd.

From the event announcement, "Sporting a new design, with enough capacity to hold more than 7500 songs, the new iPod rocks into the Apple Store on Friday, May 2, during a revolutionary event you won't want to miss.

From 6 to 10 p.m., enjoy a live DJ spinning tunes on his iPod. Receive a free event poster (while supplies last). And get a limited edition T-shirt for $10 - or for free if you buy an iPod. That's not all: you can also enter to win a JBL sound system worth $1800.

Special Appearances. Singer-songwriter Liz Phair will appear at the SoHo store and ska band Less Than Jake will appear at The Grove during this special event.

i should go and buy an iPod... man i wish i had 500 in green! but how do you spin tunes on your iPod? premix them and just play them in a playlist? don't think that that would be called 'spinning'...
 
Has anyone else wondered if Apple is going to place kiosks in Apple Stores where customers will be able to download music from the iTunes Music Store and burn it onto a blank CD?

Something like this has been theorized by people for a while, but now that there's actually a viable system for implementing this, it would be great to see it come to fruition, even if Apple increased the price of a track to a whopping $1.00 per track and $10.00 per album to compensate for the price of blank CDs in bulk. :rolleyes: :D

im thinkin about headin out to one... wanna buy an iPod but don't have the funds set up yet. anyone have info's on different warranties i can get at places like bestbuy or compusa? my friend got a 2 year from macmall, but i don't wanna pay for any shipping - i can pick it up. can't wait to bring the clown home!!!
 
Bought a 30GB ... they were selling like mad at the Apple Store at Easton in Columbus - got my T-shirt too.
 
Shatfield....in select Apple stores, they're going to have kiosks with iMac G4's hooked up to the T1 line via Airport Extreme. They'll be void of anything other than the OS and standard apps (to eliminate iPod piracy)...you can download off of the Music Store, and then burn it or store it to your ipod.
 
any of you guys who have actually touched the ipods have input on which is better feeling? the 30 gd isn't that much thicker then the 15 but is it noticeable? do you think the 15 is better cuz its thinner?
 
Back!! :) I got just posters and a T .. and a usb-bluetooth adaptor for my iBook & phone... in case there is someone drooling for an iPod, there's a 5 G one hanging around here - pm and I'll have more details of that one - mine is 20 G so i wasn't even thinking about getting a newer or bigger one.. ;)
 
i got a poster and a t-shirt, and one of the last 15 gig iPods.

the place (atlanta) was so crowded, the guy that helped me said the store was swamped all day long.

hope that translates into lots of $$ for apple :)

oh, and the new iPods are amazing.
