In the System preferences I'm the single one admin. of my mac, but my root directory (macintosh HD) shows 2 identical users folders. What's up with my system? Does it means I've a virus or a possible trojan? If I create a new user from scratch i 'll lost all my user prefs? Please, help me, I don't know what to do...

Thank You,

The settings of ownership and permissions of booth folders are the follow below:

Owner: System
Access: Read&Write
Group: Wheel
Access: Read&Write
Others: Read Only

I'm using a G3 400 mhz, blue and White, 576 RAM, 2 hd's 6 G (Main, with system files) and 40 G (Slave) runnig Mac OS X 10.2.8 Jaguar and Classic 9.2

So on "/" you have two items called "Users"? Or do you mean that in "/Users/" there are two folders with the same name? Can you post a screenshot of the file listing from the Finder?

Forget about trojans and viri. No worries there... But if you really have two folders of the same _name_ (and none of them is an alias), then that's at least strange...

I've started from mac os 9 and I used Disk utility to repair some wrong permissions.

Thank you all for reply!
