20" imac 1.8ghz - is it noisy or not?

I've heard that the 20" imac 1.8ghz have noisy fans, has anyone purchased one recently and is it really that noisy? I am getting rid of my QUICKSILVER 867 which is really noisy - but not for another noisy machine!
 
My wife has one and its fine...yes you can hear the fans when they come on but its not overly noisy IMHO. But to be sure YOU would be happy I would find one at a store and go listen to it, run lots of apps and work it hard to get the fans to come on....

Quiet is kind of a subjective analysis. The g5 is certainly quieter than the Quicksilver, but the noise of the QS is constant, so you can kind of block it out. The g5 tends to vary the pitch of it's noise and that can be very annoying to some. You really have to sit with one and put it through it's paces.
