20th anniversary of the Virus

Microsoft should celebrate this 20th anniversary by releasing an OS that is highly conducive to virus infections! They could even take it one step further by building passageways for these viruses into their other popular software, like Explorer, Outlook and Office!

What's that you say? They already have?!? Wow. Kudos to them for being so on the ball!

Some Windows 'add-on' I think. Apparently it enhances the thrill and excitment of owning a PC.

Viruses are great. They allow Windows users to share files, passwords and personal info with other users, all over the world, without even knowing about it! They also help spread useful information, like how much you can SAVE by buying your medication from an anonymous company in a back alley in India. Viruses also help prevent you from doing anything harmful or stupid on your computer, or indeed doing anything at all.

We've been missing out on viruses for far too long! All of my Windows using friends have had at least one virus on their machines, and I've never been able to get a virus to run on the Mac (except under Virtual PC).

Come on, Apple, its been twenty years now! Lets get a virus already.

I actually did get a virus once in OS 8. It was the MBDF 2 virus. Annoying little bugger. I don't remember what it was supposed to do, but I don't think it could do it in OS 8 (it was designed for System 7, I think). It just made my computer crash. A lot. Eventually it started crashing at startup, rendering my system unusable. It killed about a day of my time. In the end all I had to do was launch Disinfectant, a freeware app, and it rid my system of the virus in less than a minute. Most of my time was spent trying every other possible solution for mysterious crashes. It didn't even occur to me that it might be a virus until hour number 10 or so. That was after I installed a fresh copy of OS 8 (for the second or third time) and found that after half an hour the problem had come back!

Hehehehehe! That's what my boyfriend says! What would become of Windows without the thrill and excitement of viruses, trojans and blue screens of death? :D

Indeed. Perhaps this warning could be the saviour of all PC users.
