2nd cd/dvd drive won't open

Brand new macpro work station. top cd drive opens when i push eject key to put a cd/dvd in but when I push option key + eject key as per the manual to open the 2nd slot it won't open it. Am i missing something simple here?

I'm somewhat embarrased, but I'm going to answer my own post! I was under the assumption that my new mac pro work station came with 2 optical super drives installed. [ not ] the second one is an open bay for an optional 2nd super drive. My apologies to all who looked at my post on the site. This the reason it would not open when pressing the opt. key plus the eject key.
