I have a macbook c2d with 1gb of ram. The hardware supports up to 4gb of ram however the software is capable of only using 3.3gb. I want to upgrade my ram to either 3gb or 4gb. Heres my question. Would the performance boost from matched pairs of ram plus the extra .3gb of ram be worth spending $15 extra for 2*2gb sticks or would it make more sense to put in 1+2gb.

If it's only $15 more, I'd say max it out with two 2GB DIMMs. Just my opinion.
