Hello, I have am older beige G3 running OS X and it runs it wonderfully. I want to add it to my 802.11b network. I have seen Proxim and ORiNOCO are compatible with OS9 and below. Does any one know of a card that is compatible with MAC OSX and work with the older G3s ?
Thanks

As an officer of the British Government, ie Civil Servant, we are testing Wireless networks products on both Mac and PC laptops. Where I work, we need a wireless solution that is bi-platform and there was only a few options. The best wireless solution in my opinion for non-Airport macs is the SkyLINE 11MBits Card or PCI Card. (http://www.farrallon.com/ I think, not sure on spelling) It works wonderfully in MacOS 9. Don't think that it works in MacOS X thou. Haven't tried it as the machine is non-MacOS X compacitable. Please note that this card can only support the 40-bit WEP encyption, so therefore it will not work on 128 bit encyption hubs like the Aiport II.

I am the only one in the office (come to thinkof it, the whole of the UK Government ) that is running MacOS X, and sorry to say, I run Airport. I don't know if Farrallon are planning to update their drivers to support MacOS X. Saying that, knowing Apple, the card is already supported in MacOS X. Sorry to say, I don't know any supplier that support Wireless on MacOS X

I hope this answers your question.:D
