a better notepad?

I use Notepad++ to edit .lua file which that is quite useful. so i check the site if they have a mac version... found out they dont. so i need some software that can do like Notepad++ can do.

I already look around in google and find some notepad but nothing like Notepad++ have

Like BBEdit but it a shareware, i rather a completely free

Have a look at Smultron

It's free. I've got it but since I also have BBEdit I've only played with it.

TextWrangler, BBEdit's little brother is also free.
